Finals are being completed, grades are being posted, and the semester wrap up is well underway. Meanwhile, at the CITL we are gearing up for a summer of learning. We have several Institutes as well as workshops prepared to help you with any part of your course you are considering.
Some of our larger efforts (read more time commitment both in and out of session) include our Summer Institutes. Both the Course Development Institute (CDI) and the Flipped Classroom Institute (FCI) will be offered this summer and require a short application process and a commitment to be able to attend 100% of the sessions. During the Course Development Institute, facilitators guide participants through the beginning phases of developing a new course or transforming an existing course. Participants receive invaluable feedback from colleagues from other departments and disciplines on the work they do during the Institute. In the Flipped Classroom Institute, instructors discover the methods, tools, and support options available at IU for creating instructional videos as well as the steps necessary to redesign a class for flipped learning and active learning strategies for the face-to-face classroom.
If you are not ready to redesign a course or work on creating a new course, we have additional learning opportunities for you. Continue to keep an eye on our weekly CITL Newsletter for events like Specification Grading, Designing Student Activities, Canvas Workshops, and others.
