On Feburary 8, 2019, OVPUE IT released the completed Advising Checkin Application for University Division, Students in Transition, and Health Professions & Prelaw Center.
The application allows advisors to monitor various drop-in advising queues for each of their units, and allows students to check in by scanning their Crimson Card or entering their contact information. For students who check in via Crimson Card, we pre-populate their SAS appointments and allow them to easily indicate they’ve arrived–or they can choose an advisor and appointment time if their appointment isn’t in SAS.
Prospective and returning students can also log in with their name and email, allowing SIT and HPPLC to serve their diverse populations even before students have IU computing accounts.
Front desk staff can easily see which advisors are available for drop-ins, which ones are seeing students, and manage drop-in queues all from a single screen.
