Maxwell Hall Advising Checkin – OVPUE Information Technology

The Advising Checkin application is currently in development with an optimistic release planned in mid-January for use by University Division, Students in Transition, and Health Professions and Prelaw Center. The application will manage student arrivals for scheduled appointments (through Student Appointment Scheduler and otherwise) as well as drop-in advising.

Students will be able to sign in as a guest, type their username, or scan their Crimson Card to log in:

Once logged in, students will have the option to check in for a scheduled appointment (below) or choose an available drop-in queue to join (not pictured):

If students select “Scheduled appointment” instead of “Drop-in”, they will be able to choose a SAS appointment or indicate the person and time of their appointment (if the appointment was not registered in SAS)

The front desk view will show drop-in advisors and the queues they are monitoring, as well as appointments and other information:

Both the front desk view and the advisor view will update with new students as soon as students complete the checkin process.

The advisor can “claim” a student from a monitored drop-in queue or from their list of scheduled appointments. Once they have completed the advising session, they conclude it and may claim a new student.

Development is well under way and we are working with representatives from UD, SIT, and HPPLC to ensure that our plans reflect all of the needs of the application.
