Welcome back to a new semester, Hoosiers! I hope the winter break gave you an opportunity to recharge with friends and family in preparation for the excitement and challenges of spring.
A special welcome to our new students. With over 550 academic programs and 750 student organizations, you are joining one of the finest learning communities in our country, and I am glad you’re here.
Indiana University is just two years shy of its 200th birthday, but for all its history, what drives this campus is the collective effort of all of us. As such, this semester we’re launching our first edition of IU Student Life: News from the Division of Student Affairs.
Here in the Division of Student Affairs, we provide support services and engagement opportunities to enhance the Hoosier experience and prepare you for life beyond IU. Our newsletter, IU Student Life, will share resources, provide support, and show you how to be successful here on campus. As students, you hold great potential to shape the world and to do that, you need to be informed.
Please know our staff is here to support you in any we can. Please visit me during my weekly office hours to share your questions, concerns, and successes–no appointment is necessary.

Great opportunities await Indiana University in the coming months and years. Join us as we show you the way to success inside and outside of the classroom.
Best Wishes,
Lori Reesor, Ph.D.
