The Clara Javan Goodbody Award was created in memory of Clara Javan Goodbody, the mother of Louise Ann Goodbody, the Dean of Women from 1906 to 1911. This $2,500 award is given to a graduating senior for use in pursuing graduate study.
For 2024, we are proud to recognize Prabhvir Singh Lakhan as the Clara Javan Goodbody Award recipient for his impactful leadership and involvement at IU.
Prabhvir Singh Lakhan
Prabhvir Singh Lakhan is graduating from the College of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with minors in Chemistry and Psychology.
Prabhvir is a Provost Scholar, a Founders Scholar, and a recipient of the Dr. Norman Hertzer Scholarship for pre-medical students. Prabhvir has shown exceptional dedication to research pursuits throughout his time at Indiana University. His research examines affect dynamics and how they are related to depression, cognition, and somatic symptoms. Prabhvir has been a research assistant in Dr. Lauren Rutter’s lab since his freshman year. During his undergraduate studies, he published three papers and presented a poster at the Association for Psychological Sciences Annual Conference in Washington D.C.
Prabhvir is also deeply involved on campus. He formerly served as president of the IU chapter of the neuroscience honor society, Nu Rho Psi. During his term, Nu Rho Psi received the 2023 Chapter of the Year. Within his presidency, the honor society visited local elementary schools to do science experiments with kids and worked with the Indiana Recovery Alliance to make Narcan kits.
