Congratulations to Lauren Ehrmann, one of the 2020 Mueller Award recipients. Lauren is earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Near Eastern Languages and Cultures with a focus in Arabic with a minor in Spanish both housed in the College of Arts and Sciences. Following her academicinterests, she has worked to increase engagement with Middle Eastern and North African diaspora audiences during her internship at the Metropolitan Museum of Art last summer. On campus, Lauren is involved in the as the Vice Chair for the Collins Living Learning Center Arts Council and serves as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She also served as a Presidential Research Intern for the Office of the President. In addition to her on-campus involvement, Lauren studied abroad in Florence, Italy where she served as a Diversity Advocate for CAPA Global Education Network and Meknes, Morocco where she was in the Arabic Flagship Program.
When asked to share a few acknowledgements for those who helped support her during her journey at IU, Lauren said, “I would like to thank all my professors, especially Dr. Graves and Dr. Irmscher, for supporting me and helping me to develop both intellectually and personally. I would also like to recognize Susan, Mimi, and all other mentors who have helped me here at IU
Bloomington for their guidance, insight, and good humor! Finally, I am of course eternally indebted to Mom, Dad, and Daniel for raising me and continuing to love and support me!”
