Congratulations to Caroline Crouch, one of the 2020 Mueller Award recipients. Caroline is completing her degree in Liberal Studies from the College of Arts and Sciences with a minor in Educational Policy and Sociology from the School of Education. For the past two years, she has mentored and co-directed Helping Offenders Prosper through Employment; HOPE for short. It’s an organization which pairs undergraduate mentors with students in juvenile correctional facilities to help support them in their efforts to avoid recidivism.
Through her involvement in this program, she has learned to advocate for disadvantaged youth along with teaching them to advocate for themselves. Caroline is also involved in the IU Cox Scholar program as a Peer Coach and IU2U as a Student Leader. When looking back at her journey over the last four years, Caroline said, “I am grateful for the encouragement and support over the last few years. I know in my heart that I would not be who I am today without my many influences. You have all inspired me.”
