IU Outdoor Adventures (IUOA) is the place to turn to when you need a chance to get active and adventurous. IUOA provides students the opportunity to escape the paths they travel every day and explore new terrain this season.
IUOA offers classic favorites such as skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating– activities students have fond memories of growing up. For the bold, IUOA offers opportunities to branch out into activities such as ice climbing, snowshoeing, and even luge. IU students and community members can discover new, challenging activities they love with Outdoor Adventures.
Prices vary between trips and can be found online at outdoors.indiana.edu. For those on a budget, some trips are cheaper than others, so there is always an adventure you can take along for.
You don’t have to go to an expensive outlet to get gear for your next excursion. At the IU Outdoor Adventures Gear Shop, you can buy or rent everything you need for the winter weather – all with a 10% student discount! Buy or rent supplies from a wide range of companies such as Columbia and Nalgene. You can also rent cross-country skis, snowshoes, and boots for fun around campus or even the IU golf course. The shop is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at Eigenmann Hall.
Another way to save is by purchasing an IUOA membership, which offers premium access to IUOA programs and equipment. Get a discount on winter adventures, discounts gear rentals, and free access to the bouldering wall, IUOA workshops, and member-only events just for $25!
Wintertime at Indiana University doesn’t mean staying inside for the snow. With IUOA, students have the opportunity to satisfy their craving for adventures, activity, and the great outdoors. Outdoor Adventures has served students at Indiana University for more than 40 years. This winter they once again offer an escape to the ordinary college weekend.
