So far, my experience in Greece has been nothing short of incredible! Despite only having been here for about 5 days, it feels like it’s been much longer. We’ve been making the most of our free time on the island to explore restaurants, attractions, and anything else that catches our eye (usually cats). It’s been simultaneously exciting and exhausting.
We can’t be tourists forever, though, so today, we started filming for our first project; The Aegean Wildlife Hospital. Jen and I are the project leads, and it was certainly a new experience. I’m not necessarily a film guy, so seeing the whole process unfold was interesting. I was given the all-important job of holding the boom mic, which was honestly pretty cool despite being kinda rough on the arms. The interview went great, and I’m excited to work with the amazing footage we got. I’m much more comfortable in post-production, so I’m excited to get to work.
I was nervous about being away from home for such a long time, but both the people of Greece and the people I came with have made it so much easier. Everyone has been so welcoming and overwhelmingly positive that just being here puts me in a great mood. Even when I do feel a bit overwhelmed, I can always sit back and just take in the amazing natural beauty of Greece and enjoy the perfect weather. I can’t wait to see more in the coming weeks!
