My week and a half in Paros has been awesome. Though I’ve come three times before, this summer’s adventure has been even more amazing.
Our trip to Despotiko on Monday was especially good, seeing as I didn’t get sunburned. I took pictures of the goats (for my friend who’s obsessed with them) and looked around the archeological dig. It was a really fantastic experience to see how much the dig has expanded since last summer. I hope to go back next year.
We also took a swim in the ocean. Last year, we swam in the sea cave instead of near a small beach, so the experience was quite different. I enjoyed how clear the water was and the cool temperature. The only thing I didn’t like was the overwhelming salty taste. If you got a mouthful of water, it was over. My mouth still tastes salty.
Another highlight of this trip was my birthday on June 1. I’m extremely happy that I get to spend my birthday here on the island. It’s a great experience.
Though I’m missing band camp, I literally could not be happier about being here again. There’s so many awesome people here and even more amazing experiences. I hope to come back next year.
