We asked our student ambassadors to share why the Fairbanks School of Public Health is the perfect place for anyone interested in pursuing a career in public health.
Kate Colpetzer, Health Services Management student
The Fairbanks School of Public Health is an amazing school with opportunities for research, alumni connections, and job experience all in the great city of Indianapolis. With all of these resources around you, FSPH is the school to go to if you want to be on the frontlines of public health.
Lucy Khatib, Epidemiology student
One of the reasons why I chose IUPUI to pursue public health was due to the amazing location. Getting to go to a city-based university allows for unique opportunities that wouldn’t be found in other schools. Fairbanks allows for many opportunities to engage with the Indy community.
With public health, it is important to make these connections! For student life, I also love living in Indy! The library is a great study spot. There are lots to explore with cafes, the canal, and a big concert venue a 15-minute walk from campus. A great way to see these places to explore is to check out our new TikTok at fsph_iu. Give us a follow!
Jaida Speth, Health Services Management student
“From cancer research and disease prevention to exciting new areas like product stewardship and health data science, we’re creating the public health training of the future.”
The FSPH has so much to offer: the only CAHME-accredited MHA program in Indiana, the only MS in Product Stewardship program in the WORLD, and numerous other specialized public health certificates, minors, joint degrees, and dual degrees.
As someone who came into college undecided on what direction to go or what career I wanted to pursue, the FSPH faculty and staff made my decision easy.
The work we do in public health matters now more than ever. The opportunities that I have had since enrolling as a student in the School of Public Health are far too many to list! Consider applying using this link: https://fsph.iupui.edu/admissions/apply/index.html! 🙂 It was the best decision I have made in my college career.
