Tell us about yourself!
I am the Executive Director at The Bluffs, a not-for-profit skilled nursing facility in Columbia, MO. I am originally from Mangalore, India. I received a medical degree from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, India. I practiced medicine for a few years. I wanted to make a greater impact on healthcare rather than treating patients between the four walls of a clinic. This led me in exploring the field of healthcare administration.
My wife, Angela, is a Geriatric Consultant Pharmacist at CVS Health. We both enjoy working in senior living. We live in Jefferson City, MO. We have two daughters, Kinsley & Brielle. Besides work I enjoy spending time with family, reading books, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Mizzou Tiger games.
I went on to receive an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and I am a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Describe your career journey!
About a decade ago my personal life brought me to Missouri. Since then, I have managed a wide variety of senior living communities including Skilled Nursing Facilities, Life Care CCRCs, and transitional care centers. I have worked for large senior living corporations like Brookdale Senior Living. I also worked in government and non-profit settings. Before coming to The Bluffs, I managed 7 veterans’ nursing homes for the State of Missouri. I enjoy giving back to the community.
When I started caring for seniors, I realized the most rewarding part was building relationships and making lasting friendships. The tremendous gratitude and appreciation shown by seniors lured me into the field deeper and deeper.
