Rosalind Mark is not only a preceptor to the MSHM practicum course, but she is also an alumnus of the program!
Q: Where were you before the MSHM program?
A: Before enrolling in the MSHM program, I worked as an Improvement Leader in the Office of Transformation at IU Health Bloomington. In that role, I supported the Surgical Services and Behavioral Health departments in their process improvement initiatives. Shortly after starting the MSHM program, I transitioned to dual roles as an Improvement Leader and Interim Project Manager of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) at IU Health. In February, I transitioned to a full-time Project Manager at DE&I.
I enrolled in the Executive MSHM program because I wanted to improve my business acumen, knowledge about healthcare systems, funding, healthcare finance, marketing, and understanding of the policies that drive healthcare businesses. The MSHM program has equipped me with those skills. By the end of the program, I implemented strategic planning, business case presentation skills, collaborative leadership skills, marketing concepts, understanding of social determinants of health and their impact on health outcomes and decisions that members of the community make, and health policy concepts.”
