The Indiana Clinical & Translational Sciences Institute’s (CTSI) WISE Indiana team is a partnership between the Indiana University School of Medicine’s Indiana CTSI department and the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA). WISE Indiana engages Indiana’s nationally-recognized academic experts to evaluate and inform Indiana FSSA state practices, programs, and policies. This partnership aligns with and furthers the visions of both organizations by facilitating timely, high-quality evidence-informed research, evaluation, and analysis to the benefit of all Hoosiers.

Job/Project Overview
– Provide assistance to the team on project-related work and deliverables
– Under the direction of the Administrative Manager and Project Management Specialists, work closely to develop a plan, identify the resources needed to complete the plan, and implement based on input from the team
– Data collection: analyze, clean, condense, and summarize the results from the project
– Any other project duties as requested by the WISE Indiana administrative team
– Attend regular project team meetings
– Other administrative duties as assigned by the team
Qualifications:
• Specific skills (e.g. data analytics) Proficiency using e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation programs. Basic navigation in web/internet-based applications. Experience in communication strategies and process improvement (i.e. lean six sigma) are preferred.
• Personal characteristics (e.g. data-driven, strategic, detail-oriented) Demonstrate judgment, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent written and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to cultivate and maintain productive working relationships with project staff and collaborators; a team player.
Preceptor
Emily Hardwick, MPH, CCRP, PMP – Administrative Manager – Has over 20 years of project and operational management experience. The last 18 years, Emily has spent at Indiana University serving in a variety of administrative positions to support faculty leadership and research teams towards successful completion of projects and programmatic goals. Emily earned her BA in Health Promotion from Purdue University in 2005 and MPH from IU in 2009.
Makayla Pearson, MSHM- Project Management Specialist – Makayla graduated with a Master of Science in Healthcare Management (MSHM) in Spring 2022 from Indiana University Bloomington. After her fellowship with Stasis LLC, she went on to work for Franciscan Health as a sales and marketing coordinator leading sales and marketing projects. Makayla then transitioned to the WISE Indiana team, to seek a project management style role. With her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), Makayla has the ability to translate her science background, project management skills learned from MSHM, and her strong background in sales and marketing to lead projects with WISE Indiana.
