Sojourn House exists to defend, restore, and liberate women who have been exploited and trafficked. Located in Monroe County, this organization has opened phase 1 of programming with street outreach and case management. Phase 2 will open at the end of 2022 with a 24-month transitional housing program to help women with healing and self-sustainability.

Job/Project Overview
As Sojourn House prepares to fully open phase 2 which includes transitional housing, assistance is needed in program planning and evaluation. This includes a “fresh eyes” approach to programming already in place as well as creativity for new programming and outcomes measurements. During the year there will be fundraising that will include an annual Gala, silent auction, and new fundraising activities. Marketing to local media, planning a grand opening/ribbon cutting, and social media marketing are all areas of work for this project as well. The Board of Directors mostly meets in the evenings and virtually. This project would be mostly virtual, but there will be work that is needed on-site as the facility fully opens.

Amy Meek has been a nurse for 25 years and serves as the interim director at IU Health Community Health. She is the Board Secretary and co-founder of Sojourn House, a non-profit organization that was created in 2019 to defend, restore and liberate women in sex trafficking. Through her work as a nurse, Amy has encountered many women in Monroe County that need the services that will be offered at Sojourn House.
