Employment Post-Graduation: Michigan Department of Health and Human Services
Q: Where was your practicum site?
A: I did my practicum with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. My capstone project (my favorite project) was designing an executive proposal for implementing a Food security program in the Michigan community. I also had research projects where I would analyze state best practices regarding food security to see what innovative programs other states were doing to help combat food insecurity.
Q: What was your favorite part of the MSHM program?
A: My favorite part of the MSHM program was an outing with the cohort as well as study dates with my friends Makayla, Raegene, and Staphany, who were also a part of the cohort. I felt very connected to my peers, they were always supportive and never hesitated to offer help when needed.
Q: What is some advice you have for current or prospective MSHM students?
A: Some advice I would offer to the next MSHM generation is to be true to yourself. Never be afraid to ask questions or reach out for help. Take time for yourself and enjoy the things you love! The program is not easy but it is worth it!!
