Job/Project Overview
IU Health Methodist Hospital is opening a Nutrition Hub (aka. food pantry/wellness clinic) in
conjunction with Gleaners Food Pantry, American Heart Association (AHA), and Purdue’s Center
for Health Equity and Innovation (CHEqi) to combat health inequities that exist in patients
residing in the 46202 zip code. Patients who are food insecure are eligible to be enrolled into a
6 month program in which they are provided with nutritious foods and connected to
meaningful resources such as SNAP, WIC, etc at the Nutrition Hub. We are looking for a student
who would be interested in working alongside leaders from IU Health’s Quality & Safety
Department, Gleaners, AHA, and CHEqi to develop workflows for patient enrollment from IUH
clinics – lifecare and Pre-Admission Testing – down to the Nutrition Hub.
Qualifications
Self-motivated, entrapreneurial mindset, comfortable leading meetings / presenting to a group,
flexible, passionate about helping others, can interpret data (does not have to run statistics, but
can understand outcomes/results if read in a study or looking for trends on a dashboard)

I graduated from the MHSM program in the inagural class of 2020, my practicum was in
infection prevention at IUH Methodist Hospital. I was hired as a full time infection preventionist
at the end of the program and have been with IUH for 4 years. I am currently splitting roles as a
PeriOperative and Procedural Infection Preventionist and Quality Improvement Consultant.
