The Maurer Global Forum serves as the online medium for the Graduate Colloquium at Indiana University Maurer School of Law to promote research ideas and visions for the future, share professional experiences, and build the Maurer global community. The Forum invites legal scholars and experts to publish short, timely online articles on various legal topics with us!
Excerpts from larger works, such as theses and dissertations, are welcome. We also publish previews of books or articles that have been published elsewhere. Potential topics include but are not limited to:
- Abortion rights and other forms of criminalization or restriction on women’s rights.
- The Future of Digital Spaces: Exploring Metaverse, Blockchain, and NFTs.
- Generative AI l& technology law and policy
- Local or international news, events, and happenings that concern you.

Maurer Global Forum welcomes submissions all year long.
Electronic Submission
MGF only accepts electronic submissions through emails, by attaching a word or Google Doc link. Emails must be sent to our EIC Altay Mustafayev at altmust@iu.edu and/or attantra@iu.edu. Proposal emails should include author’s name, affiliation, biographical information (optional), and a 50-word summary of the topic of the article (or the draft article, if ready).
Paper Details
Submitted works should be limited to 600-1,200 words, using in-text hyperlinks for citation (unless otherwise requested).
The MGF expects that any concept that has already been discussed in the literature is cited properly. When a large amount of exact language is taken from another source, we expect quotation marks. We also require citations whenever an idea has been paraphrased from another source—even if the source is from the author’s previous work — as part of our editorial process. Our editors can assist authors with our website’s citation guidelines.
Originality: Articles must be written by the author(s) listed on the submission unless they are in the public domain, properly cited, or used with permission from the owner(s). The entire or a portion of the essay must have never been published.
Decisions for Publication
All summary proposals are given serious consideration. The editorial board examines each proposal anonymously. The board members will review the summary proposals and the authors will be informed of whether the submitted proposals are accepted or rejected.
We use the same criteria to look at all manuscripts and we only look at the content when we make our decisions. Our review process is thoroughly masked to avoid discerning authors’ identities, institutional affiliations, or other related details. We seek to reduce the burden on authors and suggest masking procedures. These procedures are strictly followed irrespective of authors, including EIC, Editors, and other Board members.
Conflict of Interest
Authors submitting to the forum must disclose all potential conflicts of interest. The authors must identify any organizations that provided funding for the research or writing of the manuscript and any personal or family financial interests that might be pertinent. Authors must also disclose their involvement in any litigation referenced or relevant to the article, essay, book review, or Forum piece. The forum’s publication offers are all contingent upon the authors’ compliance with the policy.
