In the process of trade globalization, due to the competitive relationship and interest conflicts between countries and regions, trade regulations and economic policies of various countries have also changed accordingly. This group is dedicated to studying the policy and regulatory changes brought about by trade wars and trade conflicts, as well as the impact they have on investors in various countries. Posts Crisis or Opportunity?: Considerations for Chinese Corporations Investing in Mexico Arising Out of US-Mexico Trade Relationship Project Leads Dr. Miguel Angel Marmolejo, Ph.D., is the inaugural Fulbright-Garcia Robles Chair at Indiana University, serving as a visiting professor through the spring semester of 2024. His appointment is a result of the Fulbright-COMEXUS program, established in 2016 to create new and strengthen existing ties between Mexican and American universities, faculty, and students. Other schools at Indiana University will host future Fulbright-Robles recipients on a rotating basis. He was appointed research professor at Universidad Panamericana in 2017 and as a research professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in 2020. Marmolejo has been a visiting academic at the University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom and at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, Mexico. Recently he was designated OECD advisor in Mexico, IUCN Academy of Environmental Law member, and a social witness by the Mexican Ministry of Energy.His work has been published in the Journal of Energy & Natural Resources Law, The Journal of World Energy Law & Business, and The Routledge Handbook of Energy Law, among others. Marmolejo’s recent scholarship has compared the recovery of the energy sector in Latin America and the European Union after the COVID-19 pandemic and examined the rights of electricity consumers in Mexico. CHE Zhe (C.Z.) is a third-year J.D. candidate expected to graduate in 2025. He earned his undergraduate degree in international business from China University of Political Science and Law in 2014. From 2016 to 2021, he worked as a general practice attorney in Beijing, China. Afterward, he enrolled in Maurer’s LL.M. program and continued to pursue a J.D. degree. He is also pursuing an M.S. degree in Cybersecurity Risk Management. As an early contributor of the Maurer Global Forum, C.Z. served as a social media manager and currently works on the research group focused on Trade War Studies.
