Biography: Acary (aka Sung Thluai Chin) is an S.J.D. Candidate at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. Acary’s dissertation explores the constitutional interpretation mechanism for Burma (Myanmar), focusing on constitutional design and normative jurisprudence. Acary’s academic pursuits are closely aligned with her passion for promoting constitutional design, jurisprudence, legal history, and fostering democratic values. Acary has a significant track record of supporting peace-building and national integration initiatives in Myanmar. She has been a visiting scholar at the Maurer School of Law, a fellow of the Center for Constitutional Democracy and a member of the Student Bar Association (2024-2025). Currently, she is a co-coordinator of the Graduate Colloquium, a Chair of the Maurer Global Forum, and Dean’s Advisory Council member 2025-2026 (representative from Graduate Legal Studies).
