Freedom House is seeking a Research Associate to advance the organization’s research, advocacy, and policy work on human rights, democracy, and technology. The team member will work across Freedom House’s two flagship annual reports: Freedom in the World and Freedom on the Net. Freedom in the World assesses civil liberties and political rights in 210 countries and territories, while Freedom on the Net analyzes human rights online in 70 countries, with a particular focus on free expression, censorship, surveillance, and privacy. Responsibilities will include supporting project management and logistics, liaising with a dispersed network of external researchers, conducting data analysis, maintaining a large database in Excel, analyzing regional political developments, and fact-checking and editing country reports. This is a full-time position, ideal for someone who is early/mid career, based in New York City or Washington, DC.

Applications are invited for one post-doctoral position on an ERC-funded project at the Centre for Constitutional Studies in University College Dublin. The project investigates the political, psychological and cognitive factors that contribute to the emergence of populism and the weakening of traditional authority structures within six case studies. Postdoctoral Fellow, National University of Singapore
The Faculty of Law of the National University of Singapore (NUS Law) is one of the premier places for legal research in Asia. It has an active research culture with seven research centres, an intense and diverse array of research events and seminars, and large numbers of eminent researchers visiting it from around the world. Successful applicants will commence their Fellowships at the start of August 2023 and conclude them at the end of July 2024. The applicant must be of exceptional calibre, having attained a doctoral degree in law which must have been successfully completed and examined during the period 1 January 2021 to 30 April 2023.
