Junior Scholar, Michigan Junior Scholars Conference (call for papers)
The University of Michigan Law School is pleased to invite junior scholars to attend the 9th Annual Junior Scholars Conference, which will take place in person on April 21-22, 2023, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Conference provides junior scholars with a platform to present and discuss their work with peers and receive feedback from prominent members of the Michigan Law faculty. The Conference aims to promote fruitful collaboration between participants and to encourage their integration into a community of legal scholars. The Junior Scholars Conference is intended for academics in both law and related disciplines. Applications from graduate students, SJD/PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, lecturers, teaching fellows, and assistant professors (pre-tenure), who have not held an academic position for more than four years, are welcome. Submission: To apply to the Conference, please submit an abstract of no more than 500 words reflecting the unpublished work that you wish to present and a copy of your CV through the online submission form by January 9, 2023.
Global Academic Fellow, The University of Hong Kong Department of Law
The Global Academic Fellows Program was created to provide outstanding and aspiring legal academics with time and resources to transition into the global teaching market. Postdoctoral Scholar, Law, Policy & Engineering, Penn State University
The Kirchhoff Lab at Penn State is recruiting a talented Postdoctoral Scholar to contribute to two National Science Foundation funded projects that investigate 1) transformation/transitions in U.S. water quality governance and co-production that resulted in measurable improvements in water quality and 2) the human dimensions of resilience and climate adaptation in water/wastewater systems. The successful candidate will also contribute to advancing public service-oriented research initiatives at the interface of Law, Policy and Engineering (LPE) to benefit society. This limited-term, benefits-eligible position will have an initial contract for one year; the possibility of renewal for a second year is contingent on satisfactory performance. The preferred candidate will have a Ph.D. or equivalent in one or more of the following areas: civil/environmental/water resources engineering, environmental studies, political science, sociology, or other relevant interdisciplinary or social science discipline. Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, including survey and interview design and data collection, statistical analysis of categorical or count data, and qualitative analysis, are essential. Experience with quantitative text analysis (i.e., natural language processing of text data) or with scientometric or bibliometric analysis is a plus.
Visiting Assistant Professor of Law, Cornell Law School
Cornell Law School seeks candidates for its Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP) Program. VAPs spend two to four semesters in residence at the Law School, gaining both teaching experience and the opportunity to devote substantial time to research, writing, and other scholarly pursuits. VAPs are given the opportunity to present work in progress to the Law School faculty and, more generally, to receive feedback and mentoring from faculty members in preparation for the academic job market. Course loads and teaching schedules are devised with sensitivity to the timing of the job market process. Applications are invited from law school graduates and from recipients of a PhD in any field who have demonstrated a sustained interest in law. VAPs are selected on the basis of an assessment of the candidate’s ability, with appropriate support and mentoring, to secure a tenure-track position at a top law school.The number of VAP positions available will vary from year to year, and VAP positions may be awarded in any legal subject matter area or methodological approach.

Early Career Fellowship, Internet Society
The Early Career Fellowship offers unparalleled access to world-class experts, including American University’s Professor Dr. Laura DeNardis and eminent scholars from the Oxford Internet Institute. It also offers project management, advocacy, and diplomacy know-how, providing the foundation for fellows to become future champions of the Internet. A cohort of 15 fellows is selected once a year to participate in the 5-month program. Fellows can develop their knowledge and skills through seminars, events, courses, discussion sessions, and project work. They will also have networking, mentoring, and collaboration opportunities. The program culminates in a final project presentation by each fellow at a closing symposium.
