Performers Jaylen Ray and select number for students from IU’s Legendary African American Dance Company will performed Margaret Bonds Three Dream Portraits. Additionally, costumes are being made for future performances, in which, will reflect the flow yet strength of Langston Hughes’ compelling poetry.
Eliana hopes to create a documentary from her work on this project that will be shot and compiled by her. However, she also hopes to document the rehearsal and planning stages of the performance in addition to creating a video of the performance. She hopes to create a multiple angle video of the performance, lasting 6 – 10 minutes, that can be displayed throughout the Bloomington community at various events. Additionally, she hopes to extend her work beyond Bloomington, particularly to families in rural Indiana.
