Summary
A collaboration with elementary school programs in the region, Kids Compose gives young students an opportunity to collaborate with
university composition students in the Jacobs School of Music. The goal is multilayered—encouraging and supporting teachers with techniques of arts integration, cultivating compositional creativity in children, focusing on process with an ultimate shareable product, and providing curriculum and resources to be used during Kids Compose residency and independently in future classes and years. After individual workshops with each class, the program culminated in performances at Clear Creek Elementary School at the end of October.
