Lydia Ai-Ling Yu – Music Academy of the West 2025
Lydia Yu (D.M. student of Prof. Anne Epperson) attended the Music Academy of the West this past summer as one of only nine collaborative piano fully-funded fellows. While there, she won the Music Academy of the West Duo Competition in the Wind & Brass Division with her oboist Jamie Yoojin Lee. They performed Schumann’s Adagio and Allegro for Oboe and Piano, Op. 70, and the Duo Concertante for Oboe and Piano by Antal Doráti. Congratulations, Lydia!
Jingyang Wu and Malcolm Liu – Bowdoin International Music Festival 2025
Two of our collaborative piano majors spent the summer attending the Bowdoin International Music Festival’s Collaborative Piano Program directed by Dr. Pei-Shan Lee. Pictured below on the left, Malcolm Liu (D.M. student of Prof. Anne Epperson and Prof. Kevin Murphy) and Jingyang Wu (M.M. student of Prof. Anne Epperson and Dr. Prestinari) were two of only five pianists selected as fellowship recipients and attended Bowdoin on full scholarship. Soroush Sadeghi – Brevard Music Center 2025
Soroush Sadeghi (D.M. student of Dr. Aram Arakelyan) attended the 2025 Brevard Music Center’s Collaborative Piano Program as a Teaching Assistant. There, he performed in various ensembles and for a wide variety of instrumental projects, including the Brevard Concerto Competition, saxophone recitals, chamber music performances of the Poulenc Piano Sextet and the Fauré Piano Quintet #1, new music ensemble, and the Brevard Sinfonia and Concert Orchestras.
