All IU School of Optometry faculty, students, and staff, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear masks in public places (i.e. classrooms, conference rooms, student lounge, academic study center). If you are alone, you can remove the mask.
Building access to study areas and practice labs is available 24/7 using electronic key card after hours.
Routine Precautions:
- Wash hands regularly. There are hand sanitizers available in the building.
- Avoid congregation in small areas.
- Removing your mask to eat or drink is permitted in the student lounge, however you may want to eat at home or outside the building, if possible.
Feeling ill?
Any student who is ill (has a new cough, fever, shortness of breath, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle aches, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell) should not come to class.
Notify your instructor(s) that you feel ill and will not be coming to class.
If you suspect COVID, get tested. If positive, follow the quarantine instructions and contact Dr. Kim Kohne (kkohne@iu.edu) as well as your instructor(s) via Canvas Inbox.
Close Contacts
If you are notified by a contact tracer, follow their instructions. Vaccinated individuals in close contact do not have to quarantine, unless you are ill and/or test positive.
