Valeriia Lavrenchuk played tennis at IU Indianapolis while studying sports management, a program she credits with helping her land a dream job.
“This [sports management] program helped me to establish great connections with different sports organizations and owners,” Lavrenchuk said. “It opened the doors to so many sports opportunities where I was able to make my first step to my dream job.”
In 2018, after she graduated with her B.S. degree in sports management, she received an offer to be an assistant coach for women’s Division I tennis at the University of South Dakota.
“Without four years of studying and gaining valuable skills for sports organizations,” noted Lavrenchuk, “this job wouldn’t have been possible. I am so thankful that I made the right decision to attend IU Indianapolis and chose a degree that perfectly matched my dream job requirements.”
Lavrenchuk is grateful not only the program in general but also to faculty and program partners. “I am so thankful for everyone who contributed and helped me at IU Indianapolis. After four years of college and a year working in the sports industry, I feel so much more educated and confident with what I want to do.”
