Our mission is to provide resources and services that support the academic engagement and research of our teaching and learning community. Our helpful, knowledgeable library team is available to assist you online, in person, or by phone. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated on resources, events, and services!
Electronic Resources, Collection Development, and Collaborations
Associate Librarian & Director Beth South manages all e-resources, including our A-Z databases, e-books, streaming media, Open Education Resources, and specialized tools like LibKey. LibKey is a browser extension that helps you locate and access articles from websites like Google Scholar, PubMed, and Wikipedia—often bypassing paywalls and broken links.
Faculty can contact Beth to explore zero-cost textbook (z-text) options. She is also the primary contact for library collaborations with community partners and campus departments. Some support may be available through our IU Foundation library fund.

Library Instruction, Resource Guides, Programming, and Student & Faculty Research
Associate Librarian KT Lowe offers customizable in-person and remote library instruction, along with course-specific resource guides such as the ENG-W270 resource guide. KT serves as the library liaison for the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Office of Student Success, and adjunct faculty.
KT’s research focuses on social information practices, misinformation, and digital literacy. Students can contact KT to submit research for publication in the Journal of Student Research and IUScholarWorks – East Student Collection. Faculty can include their CV and research material in the IU Scholarly repository.
Reference, Research, Interlibrary Loan, and Embedded Librarian
Reference Coordinator Matt Dilworth provides in-person, phone, and online reference support and can assist with both quick questions and in-depth research. He also manages Interlibrary Loan and can help you set up an account and process your requests.
Matt authored a multidisciplinary guide to research to support research across subject areas. Faculty can embed a librarian into their Canvas course for one-click student access to research help. Matt is the library liaison for the School of Business and Economics, School of Nursing and Health Sciences, and School of Natural Science and Mathematics.
Circulation, Facilities, and Archives
Coordinator of User Services & Archivist Jesse Whitton can assist with checking out materials, reserving library spaces, and placing textbooks and DVDs on reserve. The library can create resource guides for specific classes and topics, such as the LGBTQ+ resource guide.
Interested in hosting a Research Day or finding a meeting space for your club? The Community Engagement Commons is available for reservation. Contact liblearn@iu.edu or Jesse for more information.
Jesse also serves as the IU East Campus Archivist and can provide assistance with inquiries related to IU East history, the LGBTQ+ Archives collection, the Bicentennial Oral History Project, and more!
