Once again, Subir Bandyopadhyay’s mission to bring low-cost mobile marketing strategies to small businesses in northwest Indiana has taken flight — this time at a Jan. 23 workshop held at the IU Northwest campus.
Titled “In Search of Appi-ness: Leverage Apps to Develop a Cost-Effective Mobile Marketing Strategy,” 23 people took part in the four-hour session. Sponsored by the Northwest Indiana Small Business Development Center, the free workshop is funded in part through a Rural Economic Development (RED) Fund grant from Indiana University’s Council for Regional Engagement and Economic Development.
Bandyopadhyay said he was impressed by the diversity of his most recent class, which included 11 women, two veterans, five African-Americans and one Hispanic attendee. Assisting him with the latest session were Ranjan Kini, professor of management information systems at IU Northwest, and Lorri Feldt, regional director of the Northwest Indiana Small Business Development Center.
Soon, Bandyopadhyay plans to bring his free-of-charge, step-by-step program to a statewide audience.
