For undergraduates in the College of Arts and Sciences who study overseas

This scholarship supports current, full-time College of Arts and Sciences undergraduates who participate in IU-approved, credit-bearing overseas study programs.

The overseas study program can be for a summer, a semester, or an academic year.

Award

Award amounts vary.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be pursuing a degree in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Be officially enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at the time you apply
  • Have a minimum College of Arts and Sciences GPA of 3.300 at the time you apply
  • Have been accepted to participate in an IU-approved, credit-bearing overseas study program

Preference

Preference is given to students who are majoring in telecommunications.

Butcher Scholarship

Butcher Scholarship

For current undergraduate students in the College of Arts + Sciences with significant academic accomplishment and demonstrate a financial need.

Award

The recipient will receive a $2000 award that is to be applied to their cost of attendance for the 2018 – 2019 academic year.

This scholarship is not renewable.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Butcher Scholarship, you must:

  • have full-time undergraduate status in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • have a current minimum cumulative GPA of 3.750
  • have a demonstrated financial need

Preference

Preference for this scholarship will be given to candidates that are working and female.

Rush the chemistry fraternity Alpha Chi Sigma!

The Epsilon Chapter of the professional, progressive, coed, and chemistry based fraternity Alpha Chi Sigma is holding their Spring rush from January 18th to January 25th on weekdays. We’re a group of students from all backgrounds who come together because of our mutual love of chemistry. But science isn’t the only thing that binds us together. Our brothers work and study in many fields, including non-STEM areas, and have all kinds of different interests, but we function as a close, supportive, and fun family. We even have several alumni that are Nobel prize winners! Being a brother in AXSigma means always finding someone to sit with in class, going on adventures around Bloomington and far away, dedicating time to community outreach, and making a huge campus seem a little bit smaller. The Lennon Lab is seeking an undergraduate research technician

The Lennon lab is looking for an undergraduate research technician. The position requires approximately 10 hours of work per week and pays $10.50 an hour. The job primarily involves making media and washing glassware. The technician is free to choose their own hours and they can choose to continue the job through the summer.

Summer 2018 internship with dairy cattle in Idaho – apply by January 30, 2018!

Cattle Health Summer Internship for 2018

Objective:  Millenkamp Cattle is looking for an energetic, team-oriented intern that is passionate about animal health and dairy production to work on our calf raising facility and dairies to learn about large herd management.  We are looking for a self-motivated individual that enjoys working in a primarily outdoor environment and is passionate about cows.

Education Required: Current college enrollment (junior or senior status), or recent graduation. No freshman/sophomores, sorry, but please feel free to apply as upperclassmen! We use the internship as a way to evaluate potential employees for 2018/2019, meaning we prefer people who are not veterinary school-bound.

Internship Description: Focus will be on the health and management of the expanding dairy herd and calf ranch. Dairy duties to include: fresh cow evaluation and calving pen assistance, sick cow evaluation and treatment.  Calf raising duties include sick calf evaluation and treatment, processing incoming calves, milk sample analysis, assisting the hospital crew with wound care, surgeries, daily treatments, and willingness to fill in wherever needed.  Record keeping and evaluation of records on all operations is with DC305 and Microsoft Excel.  Interns should anticipate gaining an understanding of the dairy and/or calf raising system, RFID technology, and ample opportunity to improve their animal health knowledge and skills.

Come to the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and travel with us to Catalina Island for microbial ecology lab/field work, exploration, and camaraderie.

Seeking Participants for Study Surrounding Attitudes about Mental Health & Counseling

I am a doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at the at Ball State University, completing my dissertation on beliefs and attitudes about mental health and counseling. This online survey should take approximately 35-45 minutes to complete and has been approved by the Ball State University’s Institutional Review Board (IRB Protocol #: 1165635-2).

You are eligible to participate in this study if you identity as a woman, are 18 years of age or older and a current college student.

It is my hope that participating in this study would allow you to reflect on your beliefs about mental health and mental health services. I also hope that this study will improve mental health services for college students in the future by providing a better understanding of attitudes.

If you agree to participate in this study, you will be routed to an online survey consisting of several measures varying in length. Total expected completion time is approximately 35-45 minutes. Additionally, if you choose to participate, you will have an opportunity to receive one of forty-five $10 gift cards.

  • have full-time undergraduate status in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • have a current minimum cumulative GPA of 3.750

Preference

Preference for this scholarship will be given to those that intend on pursuing medical school.
