Ariana Vega is a junior studying in Health Sciences at Indiana University Indianapolis School of Health & Human Sciences, is also one of the new Life Health Sciences interns who was onboarded in the Fall. She is currently working with several ECHO programs, including:
- Hepatitis C (HCV) ECHO
- Indiana Peer Education Program (INPEP) ECHO
- LGBTQ+ Health ECHO
- Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) ECHO
Her experience with the ECHO Center has been good so far. While she was initially intimidated by it when she joined back in September, it’s turned into an environment where she’s been able to learn more with each passing moment.
Ariana has felt very welcomed here at the ECHO Center, and with time, the feeling of intimidation disappeared. She’s gotten more into the flow with the programs that she’s working with. When asked what would be some things that she’d like other students to know about ECHO, she mentioned that despite popular belief that interns may not contribute a whole lot within the workspace, she’s had plenty to contribute here at ECHO, and it really ends up being more than people originally think.
She feels as though she’s gained more confidence with working with other people, as well as when working with ECHO. In turn, she’s also learned how to communicate better with people.
Ariana is enjoying her time here at ECHO, and she can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.
