Everyone is invited to join students from Biology, Honors, the MLS Program and Sustainability Studies for an Arbor Day celebration and service project this week. We will be planting trees, removing invasive plant species and working in the campus wetlands and community gardens on Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The campus will also participate in a tree poetry reading on Friday, April 30, at 1:30 p.m. on Greenlawn. Lunch will be provided for volunteers both days.
Please note that face masks and COVID safety procedures will be enforced during the entire event, even outdoors.
Because of the limited number of spots available, if you attempt to register at our website (https://iu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_392AGXi0h2WqQqq) but don’t find any openings, you may send an email to honprog@iusb.edu to be placed on a waitlist. As spots open, we will notify those on the list.
If you have questions, please contact Honors Program Administrative Assistant, Karrie Jean, at honprog@iusb.edu.
We would like to thank the Women of IU South Bend and the Department of History for their generous financial support of this year’s Earth Day/Arbor Day activities.
