The Work-Study Student for the Titan Threads Career Closet provides essential operational and outreach support to ensure the closet runs smoothly and meets the needs of IU South Bend students. This role is crucial for managing inventory, expanding community partnerships, and promoting the closet’s services.
Location: IU South Bend, on-campus and remote Compensation: $10.15 per hour – up to 300 hours of work Status: Part-Time, Student Employment (Must qualify for Federal Work-Study funding)
Key Responsibilities
Outreach & Partnerships: Assist in contacting and maintaining communication with local businesses and community partners to solicit clothing donations and secure support for the closet. Marketing & Promotion: Prepare and distribute marketing materials (digital and print) to promote the mission, services, and donation needs of the Career Closet to the student body, faculty, and community. Inventory Management: Handle incoming clothing donations, including sorting, organizing, steaming, and preparing items for display. Clerical Support: Assist with general administrative tasks as needed to support the Career Closet's operations.
Qualifications
Must be an actively enrolled student at IU South Bend. Must be eligible and awarded Federal Work-Study funds for the current academic year. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain professionalism. Interest in supporting career readiness and student success initiatives
