This fall, all students across IU have been automatically enrolled in GenAI 101, a new online course designed to help prepare you for success in the age of artificial intelligence.
This course is completely optional, carries no academic credit, and will not appear on transcripts. Students are welcome to explore it at their own pace.
Why consider taking GenAI 101?
Here are a few key benefits:
This course will help you be career-ready and stand out to employers when you graduate. GenAI 101 gives you practical skills in prompt engineering, productivity tools, and idea generation. AI literacy is rapidly becoming a core skill in the job market. This course helps you build a standout resume with 20 in-demand GenAI skills, and you can add the official course completion badge to LinkedIN to show employers you have the skills they’re looking for.
This course is for everyone – not just computer science majors. This course is built for beginners and tailored to any field, whether you’re studying art, business, education, or healthcare.
Boost your efficiency and creativity. The course can help you learn how to use GenAI as a personal thought partner, boost your productivity, and create high-impact results faster across projects, papers, and more. It’s a tool – not a replacement for your ingenuity.
It’s free, flexible, and self-paced. You can take this course on your schedule. With 8 short modules and on-demand support from IU’s new AI Learning Agent “Crimson,” it’s easy to fit in, no matter your major or workload. The tools and examples come from platforms already available to IU students, so everything you learn is immediately usable.
Even a few hours of exploration can make a difference, especially when preparing for internships, graduate school, or future careers.
