Jake Mattox (English) will explore what’s wrong with traditional grading and some basic approaches that can help in any discipline, including examples from his teaching.
Kyle Schwieterman (Math) will review strategies to apply ungrading concepts to a STEM classroom that may be more focused on preparing students for licensure exams. He’ll also touch on how these ideas help support a more growth-focused mindset over the fixed mindset students get from traditional high-risk assessments.
