Orientation: Wednesday, July 3rd – Noon-1pm (ET) Online
Classes (7 weeks): Wednesdays, July 10 – August 21 Noon-1pm (ET) Online
It is an adaption of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), a program established through research as the gold standard in mindfulness training in workplace and health-care settings. Our program adheres to similar standards and structure as the in-person MBSR program created by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
This program focuses on:
- Recognizing and addressing stressful situations effectively “on the spot”
- Managing chronic stress
- Improving focus and communication
- Enhancing mind-body wellness
Employees are invited to the orientation, which is the first session, to assess if this class meets their needs. The class is free to employees who are willing to commit to attending the weekly sessions. Spouses on an IU medical plan are also eligible.
Facilitator: Linda F. Brown, PhD, HSPP, clinical psychologist and certified MBSR instructor
