On July 16, 2024, the IU South Bend Civil Rights Heritage Center will partner with the Office of Disability Support Services to unveil “Ability 4,” featuring works by local community and IU South Bend student artists who self-identify as living with different forms of disabilities, physical and/or cognitive.
To have your artwork considered for inclusion in the exhibition, all you need to do is email a photo of your work(s) along with brief information about yourself to George Garner at gwgarner@iu.edu. Including dimensions of the work will be incredibly helpful too as we decide how many works we can include. We will consider only original 2- or 3-dimensional works of art (no performance, music, or digital-only).
We intend to select a mix of IU South Bend student/faculty and community artists so they may have the opportunity to expand their networks, support each other, and the local community of artists with disabilities.
Mark your calendars too for July 16 when we unveil the exhibition with an opening event.
Submissions accepted through May 26, 2024.
