All IUSB enrolled students are entitled to a complimentary parking pass. While this means there is no added cost to students in order to park on campus, you do need to have a valid hangtag or else you will get a citation/ticket. You can order your pass online through this portal: https://parking.iu.edu/permits/index.html or you can come to the Parking Office on the ground floor of the Administration Building to pick one up in person. Please write down your license plate number and bring that with you. Students may park in any parking lot with an “ST” designation. Parking in other locations, such as an “EM” lot, will result in a ticket.
Parking Regulations
Citations are issued for violations of University Parking Regulations and regulations are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Displaying Permits: Parking permits must be hung from the rear-view mirror. The permit must face outward with nothing covering it so the numbers can easily be read from the outside of the windshield. If the vehicle does not have a rearview mirror, the permit must be clearly displayed on the driver’s side of the dashboard so that the numbers can easily be read from the outside of the windshield. For open air vehicles that cannot be secured an alternate permit will be issued, which must be clearly displayed on the driver’s side of the vehicle windshield.
Transfer of Permits
Permits may be transferred between vehicles driven by the same permit holder.
Lost Permits
Lost permits will be replaced for $10.00
Long Term Parking
University parking lots are intended to provide short term parking for those who are conducting university business on campus. They are not intended to provide long term parking or storage of a motor vehicle or other conveyance. Trailers, campers, boats or similar conveyances may not be parked for storage on university property. Authorization must be obtained from Parking Services to park a vehicle on university property overnight. Vehicles that are determined to be abandoned on university property will be towed and disposed of according to Indiana State Law.
Speed Limit
The speed limit for motor vehicles on University Property is 10 mph. No vehicle may be operated in any parking lot or garage at a greater speed than is reasonable and prudent under existing conditions. Safety Related Vehicle Issues Any vehicle located on the campus which is causing a safety hazard, may be removed from campus. A safety hazard is identified as, but not limited to, leaking gas or oil, emitting toxic fumes or a vehicle that has rolled out of a parking space. Fines and costs related to relocation are the responsibility of the vehicle owner.
