We are launching the inaugural Building Leadership Capacity cohort of 12–15 faculty and staff to amplify their impact, influence, and leadership across campus. This opportunity is open to all faculty and staff, regardless of rank, role, experience who have been employed at IU South Bend for at least 12 months. The Building Leadership Capacity Fund was established by Chancellor Susan Elrod to maintain a dedicated focus on leadership development at Indiana University South Bend.
Participants will meet for one 90-minute session each month during the spring semester. They will also engage in ongoing, impactful activities and reflections online. The core text for the program is Impact Players by Liz Wiseman, and the goal is to immediately put the book’s principles into practice.
The 2026 cohort will be co-led by Kathy Miller (21st Century Scholar Program Coordinator) and Jenny Deranek (Associate Dean of the Dwyer School of Health Sciences), with administrative support from Human Resources to ensure the program’s continued success.
