Session Descriptions
- General Overview of Elements (90 minutes) – brief overview of why Elements, logging in, basic navigation, profiles, review of activity types, and claiming publications. This is fairly fast paced and doesn’t allow much time for using the system, as it is mostly show and tell
- Digging into Activity Types – (45 minutes) deep dive into the various fields for activities, how to select the appropriate type for your activity, using labels, editing and managing activities
- Importing and Harvesting Publications – (60 minutes) deep dive into how publications are managed in the system, bidirectional record management, importing for bibliographic sources such as Google Scholar
- Support Tools and Resources – (45 minutes) Elements hierarchy, using tools to review and impersonate faculty accounts, reporting of activities (this is still being configured), joining or splitting records, ethics surrounding data use, resources on the website. This would be good for admins and CITL staff
- Purpose and Future of Elements – (30 minutes) This is a discussion of how Elements was selected, timeline for implementation, future plans, and questions.
- Individual meetings with key personnel – (xx minutes) would it help for us to talk individually with your deans, chancellor, faculty leaders?
- Open lab sessions – (xx minutes) we can be available for specific questions or assistance
Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Best,
Susan
