The Veterans Book Club will be meeting Thursday April 14 to discuss the best-selling book, Grunt: The Curious Science of Humans at War by Mary Roach. The book is a darkly humorous take on serious science coming from military research. Many of these cutting-edge research projects have great promise, not only to keep soldiers healthier, but for civilian applications as well. Dr. Andrew Doyle, from the department of Health Sciences will be facilitating the conversation. Dr. Doyle has a background in athletic training and physical education and has worked extensively with athletes. He will provide us with some great insights on the medical and physiological aspects of the research described in the book.
Everyone is welcome to an evening of lively conversation. You do not need to be a veteran to attend. Please contact Rhonda Culbertson with questions, (rculbert@iusb.edu)
