Open Education Resources (OER) are free teaching resources with a Creative Commons license that allows instructors to use and, in most cases, modify them to meet specific course needs. OER contribute to student success and retention by ensuring students have free access to course materials.
To encourage faculty to identify ways to adopt, adapt or create alternative zero-cost course material, the library is accepting applications for an OER Adoption Project.
- Adopt: $500 to adopt an existing OER textbook that will replace all other paid textbooks in a course
- Adapt: $1,000 to adapt an existing OER for use in a course
- Create: $2,000 to create original OER material for a course
Funds are limited. Applications will be reviewed as received, with a final deadline of May 5, 2023.
