Long before George Floyd was a household name, four police officers in Los Angeles were found “not guilty” in an incident of police brutality seen around the world.
Thirty years ago, the verdict against the four Los Angeles police officers who brutally assaulted Rodney King sparked days protests, violence, and looting. LA ‘92 immerses viewers in that tumultuous period through stunning and rarely seen archival footage.
Following the film, join in on a discussion about how the July 2020 uprisings were merely the latest in a repeating loop of galvanizing events—and how South Bend can disrupt this cycle before it begins again.
To honor the ownership and rights of the filmmakers, this event is offered in-person only for free. Public participation is highly encouraged.
Join us for the last in the Spring 2022 crhc:film series.
