We take time to celebrate the acclaimed novelist, essayist, playwright, poet, editor, and educator.
The University of Notre Dame’s Initiative on Race and Resilience joins us for a panel discussion on Toni Morrison—Nobel Prize laureate, Pulitzer Prize-winner, and perhaps the most important literary figure writing in English at the turn of the 21st century. A panel of writers and scholars discuss Morrison’s work and its impact on contemporary culture, art, and racial politics.
Panelists include:
- Cyraina Johnson-Roullier, Associate Professor of English, University of Notre Dame
- Eric Styles, writer, liturgist, and Notre Dame residence hall rector
- Francisco Robles, Assistant Professor of English, University of Notre Dame
With introductions by Darryl Heller, Director of the Civil Rights Heritage Center, and Mark Sanders, the founding director of the Initiative on Race and Resilience and a professor of English and Africana Studies.
