Please join us for IU South Bend’s second Staff (full-time, part-time, and student workers!) Volunteer Day, on Friday, Feb. 25, from 8:00am-4:00pm, where we will partner with Food Bank of Northern Indiana. Activities will include an educational talk on food insecurity and assisting the Food Bank with projects such as sorting and separating food donations and assembling food packs. Staff will be paid for the day, pending their supervisors’ approval.
Please note that our first Staff Volunteer Day was last year, so if you participated in that you may still attend the second Staff Volunteer Day under the paid leave policy since it is a new year! If you would like to attend, please RSVP for the upcoming Staff Volunteer Day by February 17.

8:00-8:30 Light breakfast, introductions, and overview of day at the Charles Black Community Center
8:30-9:30 Presentation and exercise on food insecurity by Executive Director of the Food Bank at the Charles Black Community Center
9:30-9:35 Drive to the Food Bank
9:35-12:00 Brief tour, instructions, and service
12:00-12:05 Drive back to the Charles Black Community Center
12:05-12:55 Lunch and reflections on what we are learning
12:55-1:00 Drive back to the Food Bank
1:00-4:00 Service
