Please join us for the semi-annual Bender Joy of Teaching event, a time for reflection on the many things we appreciate about teaching and learning. This semester, we’re offering a very special opportunity to think about some of the skills and practices that help educators create environments conducive to learning while also doing some improv! Kelli McBride of South Bend’s The Lark Comedy Institute will visit the UCET classroom for a workshop on the ways that improv techniques can make us better teachers. These include connecting with an audience (i.e., students), responding spontaneously (to that question you didn’t expect), and presenting information in ways that engage listeners. This will be a hands-on, fun, workshop with attendees participating in several improv exercises related to teaching.
Space is limited for this workshop, so please RSVP to Jamie Smith at jms21@iusb.edu if you are interested in attending. We’ll accept RSVPs in the order received until the spaces are gone!
Friday, December 10, 1- 2 p.m.
