Since its inauguration in 1988, World AIDS day is a day to support those living with HIV or those who have passed from an AIDS-related illness. This day is important because it reminds all that this illness is still prevalent today. HIV is transmitted through bodily fluids, sexual contact, and blood.
Getting testing is the only way to know you have HIV. Early diagnosis and treatment is crucial for a full, healthy life. If HIV is not treated it can lead to AIDS, HIV is not curable but manageable with early and appropriate treatment. Free screening is ALWAYS available at the Health and Wellness Center. Please call 574-520-5557 for an appointment!
How to protect yourself from HIV:
Condom use EACH and EVERY TIME
