Registration is live for FALCON 2021 (FACET’s Facet Associate Faculty and Lecturer Conference) will take place online Saturday, November 13. The conference will kick off at 9 am with the Hass-Birky Keynote, “Teaching with empathy for equity,” presented by Jessica Calarco, Associate Professor of Sociology, IU Bloomington. There will be three concurrent sessions, which includes a LEAP Indiana track, and two afternoon plenaries: “Catching Kindness: Building a Learning Community Through Social Media Collaboration, Ungrading, Creative Assignments, and Other Untried Efforts in Unprecedented Times“ presented by Jay VanderVeen, Professor of Anthropology and Sociology and Assistant Director of the University Center for Excellence and, IU South Bend, and “Authentic Projects as Alternative Assessments: Examples from an Introductory STEM Course” presented by Catherine Macris, Assistant Professor of Earth Sciences, IUPUI.
