Top 3 Tech Tips For Returning To Campus
We hope everyone has a smooth return to campus. Here are our top three tech tips to help you:
- Allow time for updates on start-up.
- Computers powered off during the pandemic may need significant time to complete upgrades.
- Some programs, such as Zoom, may not be able to connect until they’re upgraded to a recent version.
- Due to changes over the past year you may need to reconfigure Outlook after the Exchange migrationor add the new Employee Printing queues of:
- Black and White – \\EWA-PRNP03.ads.iu.edu\SB_ORG_BW
- Color – \\EWA-PRNP03.ads.iu.edu\SB_ORG_COLOR
Please allow several hours for this process and plan to have limited use of your computer during this time.
- Bring back and charge peripherals and return loaned equipment to Support Center.
- Remember to bring back from home any peripherals you’ll need (e.g., mouse, keyboard, headset) and any loaned equipment (return to Support Center).
- Also, be sure peripherals that were left on campus are fully charged and connected.
- Docking stations may need to be reconnected to reset them.
- Learn how to access Zoom and Teams in conference rooms.
Microsoft Teams and Zoom meetings are available from most conference room systems. Here’s how to connect:
- Connect to Zoom from a videoconferencing room.
- Connect to a Microsoft Teams meeting from a videoconferencing room system.
