Indiana University South Bend considers residential living a valuable part of the educational process in which students participate when they agree to live in the residence halls. Resident Assistants (RAs) help students develop responsible, concerned approaches to group living by supporting their efforts to understand themselves and others. RAs also work with residents to create an environment conducive to living and learning. Each RA is expected to plan a number of programming events that meet the social, cultural, and educational needs of residents.
RAs are compensated with a bi weekly stipend and free occupancy of a two-bedroom apartment. The RA position helps to teach individuals several life skills such as time management, interpersonal skills, communication skills, emergency management, and more. You as a RA will be able to meet several new students, and have the opportunity to network and get to know others.
